On putative moral partisanship


What separates the partisan moral philosopher from the non-partisan is that the latter believe no particular group of people has a greater claim to merit self-indulgence or to be especially indulged by society.  What separates partisan moral philosophers from each other is the group they have decided most deserves to be indulged by the rest of society. By contrast, the non-hyphenated moral philosopher seeks the good of the other, regardless of the other.

Pope Francis' Prayer Intentions for January, 2016


VATICAN CITY, 30 December 2015 (VIS) - Pope Francis' universal prayer intention for January, 2016 is: "That sincere dialogue among men and women of different faiths may produce the fruits of peace and justice".

His intention for evangelization is: "That by means of dialogue and fraternal charity and with the grace of the Holy Spirit, Christians may overcome divisions".
